The last Live 8 gig will take place in Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium today, 6th July. Titled "Final Push", the concert is calling for G8 leaders commencing the summit this evening to tackle Africa's poverty.

This is the last from the series of the Live 8 concerts that took place on Saturday. It was scheduled to coincide with the Long Walk to Justice Rally in Edinburgh to unify those proclaiming the message of "Make Poverty History", and to clearly stress these points to the leaders deciding the world's future.

The concert includes feature performances of artists such as Annie Lenox, James Brown, the Proclaimers, the Corrs, and Youssou N'Dour. Pop stars Ronan Keating, The Sugababes, The Corrs, Natasha Bedingfield and her brother Daniel and Texas will join to support the campaign.

African artists from pop star Peter Gabriel's Womad music festival will perform as well.

Film stars, Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon joined Bob Geldof on his way to Edinburgh. Geldof is due to perform at the gig with his co-organiser Midge Ure together with many "very special" speakers.

An estimated 60,000 attendants are expected to join the event hosted by comedians Lenny Henry and Peter Kay.

Organisers described the event as the final push: "This is the final moment; this is the eve of the biggest meeting ever in the fight against poverty."

Geldof also expressed his dismay over the clashes between police and protesters and said these protesters had "nothing to do with our message."

"Our message is about dignity and respect for people, upholding values of being human and allowing each human to use their life and not have it taken away by poverty."
