"Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia" is just a week away from its release. Many fans are now waiting for the release date with excitement as they welcome the new addition of the series for the 3DS. However, as new as its name "Echoes," the upcoming "Fire Emblem" title is not really that recent.

Nintendo Treehouse kept the hype train going as they updated their Tumblr account. The company posted a blog entry that discussed why "Fire Emblem Echoes" is unique from its previous predecessors in the 3DS and why it is not as fresh as the rest.

"Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia" is the brand-new entry to the "Fire Emblem" series to the 3DS. Even though it is branded as "Echoes," the game is not actually new in terms of story and everything else. The game is actually a remake of their old game "Fire Emblem Gaiden," which was first released in 1992. It has the story and mechanics of the old title, but has the new graphics and other elements of the present.

The game will have the classic "Fire Emblem" gameplay. This means that what sets it apart from "Fire Emblem Awakening" and "Fire Emblem Fates" is that it is back to brutal basics. These means no weapons triangle, no space pairing; the players will have only their characters and their wit for strategy.

Another thing that makes the "Fire Emblem Echoes" make true of its classic gameplay is that it will not offer "seals." Seals allow characters to change or upgrade their classes. In this game, players would need to go to one of the "Mila Idols" to upgrade or change them. These idols can only be found in key places or dungeons inside the game.

The story is set in the land of Valentia, where two kingdoms continue to be at war. The player's task is to control two separate armies to stop it. Each of these armies will have different characters with different strengths and weaknesses. It is up to the player's strategy to maximize these characteristics and use it for victory.
