Owners of the original Moto X, Moto G and Moto 4G are still playing the waiting game for Android Lollipop. Apparently, Motorola has been very particular in updating its more recent devices with the software in the past weeks. 

Motorola has been one of the fastest brands in bringing Google's newest operating system to its devices. However, the aforementioned phones have been left in the dark, with owners still Lollipop-less and stuck with KitKat.  

But at last, Motorola has revealed what it has been doing in the past weeks. The company's senior director David Schuster confirmed just recently that the delays were for a good reason. 

"As some of you might know, we've been testing Lollipop 5.0.2 upgrades on Moto X (1st Gen), Moto E (1st Gen) and Moto G with 4G LTE (1st Gen) in several regions," Schuster reminded Motorola users in a post on the firm's official website. "In parallel we have started testing Lollipop 5.1 which was recently released by Google. Given the improvements in Lollipop 5.1, we have decided to move all efforts to upgrade these devices directly from KitKat to Lollipop 5.1." 

In a nutshell, first-generation editions of the Moto X, Moto G and Moto 4G will jump from Android KitKat to Android 5.1 Lollipop, which is the latest build and form of the update. According to GSM Arena, DROID Turbo will be going the same direction as well.

Unfortunately, there is still more sightless waiting as the senior director did not mention any timeframe with which the update will start rolling out to the devices. Users remain clueless on how long the process will take and this is making impatient users out of Moto X, Moto G and Moto 4G owners. 

But with the announcement, there is hope that Android Lollipop will come to these well-loved handsets soon.
