Originally, the final chapter in the smash-hit "Five Nights at Freddy's" was to be launched on Halloween. However, game developer Scott Cawthon and his team at Scott Games surprised fans and jumped the gun, and released "Five Nights at Freddy's 4" much earlier than expected.

Now, as gamers try to finish the title, they have put forward different theories about the game's outcome, and how the final chapter stitches together the many mysteries surrounding the series.

A favorite among fans is the answer to who the main protagonist of the series really is.

According to Reddit user lupinocturne, the whole final chapter of "Five Nights at Freddy's" is geared toward solving the mystery of the Missing Children. According to how the story of the final chapter unfolds, the main incident solver in the title is a bit on the stage at the end of the game, and this is the same stage where the "boy" was seen in the final mini game of the title's previous installment, "Five Nights at Freddy's 3."

"Now, probably not the exact same location, but it would be plausible because it's the symbol of his death, the place in the building that was his finale," the fan wrote. "It's where the animatronics rest, and where he was hoisted up to meet his demise."

Meanwhile, other fans suggest that instead of one of the Missing Children, the main character is already a survivor of the series, a victim of the Bite of '87 incident. Compiling a series of Easter eggs from observant gamers, Kotaku reports that according to some fans, the pill and IV bottle noticeable in the protagonist's bedroom are evidences of being hospitalized after the Bite of '87. In addition, there are also subtle hints such as background sounds that suggest the character being a patient at some time.
