Since the much-awaited "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie was announced for development last year, updates on the project have been very difficult to come by.

This started to worry fans, but director Gil Kenan reinstated the confidence of fans by clarifying on Twitter that the film wasn't cancelled, and that the script was still their focus.

That was back in April. In May, "Five Nights at Freddy's" creator Scott Cawthon said that the script was still being put together.

Since then, there has not been any update on the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie. It is unknown what Kenan's team plan is when it comes to the role of the security guard.

The security guard is the character played by gamers in the "Five Nights at Freddy's" games. It is unknown if a big name celebrity will take on the role.

Since there's no information on what sort of story the people behind the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie are going for, it will be a challenge for now to figure out who will play the role.

As for the animatronics, there will be no computer-generated imagery or CGI involved. Kenan wants the iconic characters to be real.

To make it work, the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie helmer enlisted Jim Henson's Creatures to bring Freddy Fazbear and the rest of the killer animatronics to life.

As far as development is going, Cawthon will be very much involved in the making of the film. However, at the moment, he has much of his attention to the spinoff "Five Nights a Freddy's: Sister Location."

Cawthon recently updated his website Scott Games with a new poster that shows a group of identical animatronics that appear to take the form of extremely creepy babies.

As for the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie, it is rumored that it will be released in June 2018.
