A new "Five Nights at Freddy's" game is out now, but fans expecting a thrilling horror experience might get disappointed, as the new spinoff takes on a lighter note.

Scott Cawthon, the developer of the titles, has now released "Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator" on Steam for free. Based on the synopsis of the free spinoff, the simulator is a "fun 'Five Nights at Freddy's' adventure with a lighter touch for the holidays." This means it may be trading off horror for a more festive tone since it will put players in charge of their very own pizza franchise.

Fans of the title, however, have noticed that the game is actually more than it appears, as it is in fact, the sixth game for "Five Nights at Freddy's" in the guise of a restaurant management sim. Cawthon's decision to make something lighter actually stemmed from his being burned out of development for the franchise, since fans keep expecting a new "Five Nights at Freddy's" game to be better than the last. This time around, Cawthon has made it so that the pressure on him is not as heavy, hence the free release. After this, he will be taking a break from development.

Cawthon believed that while the continuous development of the last five "Five Nights at Freddy's" games has cemented the title's reputation as some of the year's finest, he realized that he was merely forcing himself to work on the game. The developer has discerned that he just did not want to do it anymore due to the overwhelming expectations for the next "Five Nights at Freddy's" game.

Simply put, "Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator" will be the last "Five Nights at Freddy's" until Cawthon has gotten his much-needed break. The developer has felt that he had been sacrificing much of the other aspects of his life just to satisfy expectations and did clarify that the Pizza simulator was not a trolling attempt or a publicity stunt before taking his much-needed break.

For now, fans can relax with Cawthon as they play "Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator" for free.
