"Five Nights at Freddy's: Sister Location" is the upcoming spin-off to the popular horror video game franchise, "Five Nights at Freddy's," but as of the time of writing there is no official launch date announced. Game developer and series creator Scott Cawthon has now announced that the game will not see an early release.

Responding to fan questions on Steam, Cawthon revealed that even if the game is finished earlier than expected he will not suddenly release it to the market before the scheduled release date. This occurred with the recently launched "FNaF World," an RPG spin-off of the series, and the product was met poorly and had to be pulled off the Steam digital market.

Instead, Cawthon revealed that the game will spend the remainder of its time prior to launch being polished. Many fans complained that "FNaF World" felt rushed and had many features lacking because of this. Cawthon appears to be making amends and ensuring fans that this incident will not repeat itself.

The teaser image for "Sister Location" features a brand new animatronic villain but that does not necessarily mean the spin-off will not have recurring characters from the original games. Cawthon also revealed in a separate reply on Steam that he would be bringing back Springtrap if it would make sense in the game's narrative.

"I would like Springtrap to make a return somehow, but it would have to make sense to the story. So for now the best answer I can give it - maybe, someday," was the only clue the developer gave to the fans. Springtrap mysteriously vanished in "Five Nights at Freddy's 3" and fans have been clamoring for Cawthon to bring the character back.

Springtrap is also rumored to be making an appearance in the upcoming "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie adaptation given that the film is based on the first game in the series.
