Although not many were surprised when Scott Cawthon released his much-anticipated "Five Nights at Freddy's World" title much earlier than expected, the anticipation seemed to backfire on the game itself. The creator himself admitted that the game might "have been released too soon," and Cawthon decided to pull out the title.

According to Cawthon's latest post on the Steam Community page, the creator is dissatisfied with the way the current version of "Five Nights at Freddy's World" plays. The game, however, continued to receive positive reviews and already had an 87 percent "Very Positive" rating on Steam. However, Cawthon said that the specific feedback from each player prompted him to suspend the game. "For that reason, I've decided to remove the game from Steam," Cawthon said.

The title has been taken down and is now unsearchable on the Steam downloads page.

Cawthon also promised that players who have availed of digital copies would be refunded. "I've also asked Valve to make it so that the game can be refunded regardless of the amount of the time it has been owned, meaning that anyone can get a refund at any time. It may take them a while to set that up, but it will be in place soon," he said.

"Five Nights at Freddy's World" originally had a release date of Feb. 19 for the PC version, with the mobile titles for Android and iOS devices soon to follow in the weeks after. However, much like what Cawthon did in previous "Five Nights at Freddy's" titles, the RPG spin-off was released on Steam at least three weeks early, and fans started downloading the title late last month.

While players praised the new take on the previously horror-and-suspense animatronics characters, some believed that the title missed out on some key elements of a good RPG title. Cawthon himself admitted that although the game is already complete, it seemed to be missing some key ingredients to make it an enjoyable one.
