'Five Nights at Freddy's World' release date news: 'secret' bosses and more content in the works

Die-hard fans of Scott Cawthon's mega popular survival horror point-and-click video game series "Five Nights at Freddy's" just can't get enough of the horror fest and the not-so-adorable and definitely nightmare-inducing animatronics.

Just recently, it was rumored that the spinoff the game designer was working on called "Five Nights at Freddy's World" was to be released on Jan. 1. Needless to say, the game did not turn up, much to the disappointment of fans.

Cawthon took to Steam Community to address the "Five Nights at Freddy's World" release date mishap, writing "That's not exactly what I meant when I said 2016, although if the game had been ready I think that would have been pretty cool!"

He added that he is not yet prepared to determine a release date for the hotly anticipated spinoff yet although the independent video game designer emphasized how busy he is putting the game together with all kinds of content.

Cawthon also noted that upon building the installment, "Five Nights at Freddy's World" became bigger "than I'd first planned it to be," which he underlined is not a bad thing at all.

"I'm busy adding power-ups and shops, as well as a few different ways to beat the game. I'm also busy creating secret bosses! Since I'm still planning on this being the last "FNaF" game, I want it to be a really great experience," he explained.

"Five Nights at Freddy's World" will be very different from its predecessors. While it won't be as sinister as the first three games, it should be as fun and enjoyable to play. Rumor has it that the game will focus on gamer choice by providing different endings based on the player's choices.

"Five Nights at Freddy's World" will boast the old characters and some new ones. There's the boss character Browboy and large bear named Bubba, a pig and skeletal animatronics.
