Joanna Gaines of HGTV's "Fixer Upper" has once again squashed rumors that the fifth season of her hit home renovation series with husband Chip has been cancelled. It looks like her low-key announcement of the show's renewal last year needed a follow-up.

In a recent Twitter post, she clarified that season 5 is definitely underway, saying, "Another #fixerupper reveal down today for Season five! @hgtv #seasonfiveiscoming".

In the "Fixer Upper" season 4 finale, the Gaines pulled off a major project successfully. They were able to build the dream farmhouse-inspired home of executive producer Michael Matsumoto in Texas. It was one of their biggest projects so far.

Rumors that the popular home renovation series will not air its fifth season came up because of the announcement of a new spin-off show called "Fixer Upper: Behind the Design," which features everything that goes on behind the scenes of their renovation projects. The sneak peek of the new show aired on March 28.

It has previously been reported that the couple have already started filming "Fixer Upper" season 5, which is said to have sixteen 30-minute episodes. Speculations say that if the network follows the usual schedule, it will likely air on HGTV after Thanksgiving in November, possibly on the 28th. However, the official premiere date has yet to be announced by the network.

In other news, the well-loved couple recently sat down with CBS News and talked about how their religion has made an impact on their show. "As for 'Fixer Upper,' we have been surprised at the impact of our faith through the show," the couple shared. "We haven't been overtly evangelical, but the rich feedback we have received on family and love all source from our faith."

The couple were previously involved in a controversy when people found out that they were associated with the Antioch Community Church, which is known to have made pressing anti-homosexual comments in the past. Chip and Joanna remained silent regarding the matter.
