All for a good cause.

Chip Gaines is out to cut his long beautiful locks, but for something positive.

Last week the TV contractor announced this news on his Instagram account saying, "Alright, fine. I'll cut my hair. But first...It's time to put your money where your mouth is. Interested? I'll be back to tell you more tomorrow."

Just like he promised, the star of the home improvement reality show "Fixer Upper" revealed that before he chopped off his hair, he asked his fans to make a donation to charity.

He said that he knew a lot of his fans does not like his current hairstyle and asked them how much they hated it. He struck a deal with them as he and his wife Joanna are scheduled to fly to Memphis to visit the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. He told his fans that the families who go to St. Jude are not required to pay for their treatment and the couple want to donate money with the help of their fans to the hospital to cover some of the cost.

Prior to this act of kindness, Chip and Joanna went to Houston, Texas to help a typhoon survivor rebuild their home. The couple teamed up with volunteers from Exxon-Mobil who are helping with the rebuilding efforts being done in the area.

Doris Davis, 81, remained in her home as hurricane Harvey decimated her neighborhood. The old woman recalled that she was afraid that she could not move even if flood water was starting to enter her home. The old woman stayed in her home for three days as her grandchildren posted pictures of her on social media hoping to see if their grandmother was ok.

They later learned that a neighbor rescued the elderly woman and took her to hospital to receive proper care.
