Flash and Arrow spinoff rumors: Will multiple DC heroes and villains appear in crossover episodes?

Hearing about the Arrow and the Flash joining forces once again in new crossover episodes is nothing new and is something viewers of both TV shows are likely to be looking forward to. Though there is no official word yet on what the plot would be, a likely angle would be a time-hop angle which opens the door to a whole new world of possibilities.

There are a lot of characters that could possibly appear – both the living and the deceased. And seeing that both shows have had their share of short yet familiar DC comicbook heroes (and villains) appearing at one point or so in their respective shows, bringing all of them together would certainly jack up viewership.

There is word going around that the crossover could be about a time-hop (time travel) plot. And for the fans of the Flash, such should not be surprising. But how does the Arrow come into the picture?

From the looks of it, Barry Allen may decide to get down to what really happened to his mother. If you had been following the series, it was revealed that the Flash was around during that time when his mother was killed by the yellow-suited speedster (the reverse-Flash) tied up with his current mentor, Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh).

But of course, Flash will have his work cut out for him hence perhaps the need for aid and assistance from Oliver Queen aka the Arrow and his group. And if that would be a case, it opens the doors to a wide variety of superheroes who could join the fray.

That includes possibly Firestorm, the Atom, and a yet to be confirmed hero in Booster Gold. Among villains aside from Gorilla Grodd, it could include Captain Cold, the Trickster or even the Pied Piper.

If a time travel plot does prosper, we could see a flashback to the original Black Canary (Caity Lotz) joining the fray.

All of these are speculations but if this would indeed be the path to which the crossover would go, it should be a pretty big one that could bring the heroes (and villains) together in crossover episodes.
