Floyd Mayweather Jr. rumors: 'Money' visiting Manny Pacquiao's territory?

Is Floyd Mayweather Jr. headed over to the Philippines, home of rival Manny Pacquiao?

A report from the Philippine Star seems to hint at the possibility, although Mayweather's itinerary is fuzzy.

According to Quinito Henson, Mayweather could be headed to the Philippines since he was invited by a promoter to discuss plans of possibly bringing in some National Basketball Association (NBA) players in the summer. Aside from that, there are other possibilities pointed out in his column.

Mayweather could be coming over to rep up plans for a wellness, rehab, and health center or probably just check out the country and see what makes the Philippines a passionate place for boxing.

Whatever the real intent is up in the air but the important thing is to see first if Mayweather is indeed headed to the country which could garner mixed reception. Apparently, everyone knows the potshots that Mayweather has thrown at Pacquiao in the past months, although the Filipino fighter is likely to act professionally and welcome Mayweather to the Philippines.

Mayweather has gained a lot of heat for his cockiness. If plans are indeed true, he could be headed to hostile territory, although it may be wise for him to send some representatives to evaluate the situation before pushing forward (if he does intend to touch base).

Mayweather is officially retired in the boxing books, capping that with a unanimous decision win over Andre Berto. That allowed him to finish with a 49–0 record though there are still some who feel he can easily change his mind and possibly go for 50–0.

Should he land in Philippine shore and eventually meet up with Pacquiao, it won't come as a surprise if both sit down and discuss that thought. Nothing is certain but the idea is bound to be something that both could possibly discuss.
