Floyd Mayweather Jr. has always been tagged as a villain and that persona finally came out recently as he trash-talks Berto leading to their fight at the MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas this weekend.

Both fighters have been exchanging verbal jabs at each other, something that many feel are part of a script to gain some interest. On whether such is the case or not remains to be seen, but one has to wonder why all these trash-talk has started just now.

Of course, everyone knows that the official announcement of the fight came a wee bit too late but still, one can't help but gauge the severity of their hurled insults coming days before a fight which many believe will not rack in the right numbers as far as revenues are concerned.

Recall that it was initially believed that this fight would not be on pay-per-view seeing that Berto was not exactly the fighter people had in mind for Mayweather's alleged last opponent.

To this day, many are not convinced that this will be Floyd's last hurrah and sticking to their belief that Mayweather will continue to fight in 2016.

History will be made either way on Saturday. It could be that 49-0 achievement or perhaps one of the greatest upsets in boxing history. Of the two, of course, the former is the one many believe that will likely happen.

With all the hurled insults, don't be surprised if people continue to ignore such since everything right now is looking a lot like a movie rather than an actual boxing match.

Mayweather and Berto can go on and promote this fight to be a good one but seeing that Berto isn't exactly a primetime type of a boxer, folks would rather wait for a free glimpse of the fight rather than spend hard-earned cash in what many believe is a waste.

Whatever happens, the fight is set; what is more important are the post-fight announcements and claims. Will he retire? Probably. But the door is not totally closed completely for another fight as far as Mayweather is concerned.
