It seems that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is planning to take the safe rout towards equalizing Rocky Marciano's 49-0 record by picking easy opponents this coming September.

Mayweather seems to have whittled down his possible opponents to two, Andre Berto and Karim Mayfield, two fighters who are not regarded to give the unbeaten American boxer much of a workout.

Many felt that Mayweather was kidding around at first since it was widely believed that he would be selecting Amir Khan as his opponent.

"Absolutely! 100% serious! I think when it's all said and done, people are just going to really miss Floyd Mayweather" he said in an interview with Fighthype.com.

Mayweather had said before that he is looking for a solid opponent and the names he mentioned were something that fans felt were not even close to what they were expecting. But he did point out something via Twitter through Dan Rafael.

So one of these fighters will indeed be his last fight, who will it be? Of the two, Berto is the one said to be stronger so if Mayweather wants a stroll in the park just to get the win, chances are he will be naming Mayfield who has never really carved a name for himself.

Though he says he is serious about it, there are still some who doubt that Mayweather is serious. It could be response for being fed up of being constantly asked on who he will fight this September – which in everyone's mindset would be Amir Khan.

Mayweather has been known to play with people's minds and come up with a surprise at the last minute. He wants to be the one to make the announcement and catch everyone offguard.

So until we hear the official word his opponent will remain a mystery until we see a press conference or contract signing that would include Berto or Mayfield.
