In a couple of months, the world will know who between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao will truly be the best pound-for-pound boxer and awaiting the winner is a special belt from the WBC.

This was announced by WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman which was made to highlight the blockbuster bout.

Set for May 2, 2015 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, anticipation is running high and is something that is expected to be in the air at least for the coming months leading to the fight. Aside from the $250 million purse, pride is at stake.

For Mayweather, Pacquiao will be a yardstick to measure his legacy. Often hit for taking on less than impressive fighters, the unbeaten American boxer goes head on with one of the dangerous southpaws in the ring.

On the other end, Pacquiao could be winding up his career especially if he comes out with a victory. Pacman, who is also tied up with local politics and basketball, has practically achieved everything a boxer could attain. And a victory over Mayweather could be the ultimate prize.

With regards to how the fight will go, a chess game is expected to ensue. None of the analysts or critics are keen on a knockout although Juan Manuel Marquez did stress that Pacquiao could win only if he knocks out the flamboyant one.

He further adds that should it all come to a decision, Mayweather is bound to win it all.

Trash talking from the camps of both fighters have started and expected to escalate as the months pass by. Both are already in intense training as they prepare for the fight of the century.

As far as watching the fight is concerned, many may have to settle watching the bout on pay-per-view. With ticket prices soaring and complimentary ones likely impossible to get, the next best thing is to check local cable TV companies for pay-per-view subscriptions.

However as a precaution, it would be wise to note that these cable TV companies are likely to jack up their rates as well.
