Once again, the Mayweather-Pacquiao setto goes back to square one.

Despite earlier reports that the fight between him and Pacquiao was already a done deal according to reports, Mayweather cleared the air and said that all of it was pure speculation.

According to a report from Fighthype.com, Mayweather stressed that neither of them have signed on the dotted line.

"That's not true. I haven't signed yet. He (Pacquiao) hasn't signed yet. It's just been speculations and rumors. But I'm hoping we can make the fight happen" says Mayweather who was on hand during the NBA All Star weekend in New York.

A previous report from the Telegraph revealed that the fight was on with both agreeing to a record-setting $250-million contract.

According to the report, Mayweather was to get 60% while Pacquiao 40% of the total fight purse. All of this allegedly came from a source from the Pacquiao camp which are now apparently doused. Many had speculated that Mayweather would make the announcement before tip-off of the NBA All Star game which obviously never came.

For his part, Pacquiao still remains hopeful and continues to ask for patience from the fans. However, with rumors of the fight being a done deal said to be originating from the people around him, Pacquiao is looking a lot like a boy who cried sheep.

Apparently it will take more time for both camps to work on the possible tiff since there are a lot of elements that need to be ironed out. That includes the deal between the two camps and of course the cable networks, HBO and Showtime.

And the longer it takes for both camps to come to terms make it less likely that the fight will take place on May 2. At the rate things are going (and if ever they do come to terms), it may eventually moved to a later date.
