Formation of Skaters Ministry Leader Network in Process

|TOP|For the first time, Christian leaders from different skate ministries across the UK have gathered with the aim of creating a “loose” Skate Ministry Leaders Network.

Over 30 leaders from 15 different skate ministries gathered from places as diverse as Dundee, Kent and Swansea to discuss their needs and to find encouragement.

Representatives from Youth For Christ’s One Eighty project joined skate park owners, church leaders, and industry leaders for the project.

The meeting was set up by the head of Christian Surfers UK, Phil Williams. Williams felt that God was calling him to “get the leaders of this ministry together to form a network, and start to work together to reach skaters for Christ in a more intentional way.”

Williams said: “All those attending had a heart and passion to reach skaters for Christ, which was brilliant... The day was a great encouragement to many who were perhaps feeling a bit isolated, in this tough but rewarding ministry.”

Now plans to form an official Skate Ministry Leaders Network are in action, and a website should soon follow. The website will act as a point of contact for those involved with the skate ministry.
