The "Fortnite Battle Royale" is one of the hit games of the battle royale genre that is being played by millions of players, and which is now neck and neck with "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" ("PUBG") in terms of player base. This means players can expect more updates and fixes to be made to the game in the weeks and months to come.

The latest update will reportedly be removing one weapon from the game. Those who love using the coveted submachine guns (SMGs) will be spending their last moments with it in the game.

Developer Epic Games plans to remove the SMG soon, at least temporarily. However, there are some variants of the player-favorite weapon that will remain in the game such as the Tactical SMG and the Suppressed SMG. As a representative from Epic explained via Reddit, they will be placing most of the SMG variants to what they refer to as the vault.

As explained by Epic, the vault is a place where items will be stored for a while. As to how long of a while that is, nobody actually knows. "As we add more weapons, consumables, and other item types, we want to make sure that the balance of itemization isn't ruined," reads the post on Reddit. "Expect more items to be released (and likewise vaulted!) in the future. And of course, items will often come back out of the Vault when the timing is right."

Players should not feel sad because Epic recently introduced a new weapon to the game, which may be a good alternative to the SMG: the Crossbow. It shoots silently and has unlimited ammo.

This is only the first in what will be a lot of new additions to the game. This will not only include weapons but consumables as well and generally more items that players will enjoy. This news comes after the developer talked about their plan to make a 60 frame per second (FPS) mode on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (PS4).

There are also limited-time modes that Epic has released. While they did remove a popular weapon, they at least replaced it with other cool new stuff.
