"Fortnite: Battle Royale" just became one of the hottest blings recently in gaming recently after rapper and celebrity Drake played and streamed a session of the online game.

Aubrey Drake Graham or simply "Drake" joined "Fortnite" streaming superstar Tyler "Ninja" Blevins in a streaming session for "Fortnite: Battle Royale" where the two teamed up to try their luck and skills in a 100-player deathmatch. Albeit the two were actually squadmates in a team of four making the fight against 24 other teams instead of 99 other players. The two celebrities were joined by Steelers receiver JuJu-Smith Schuster and rapper Travis Scott in one of the most star-studded gaming sessions in history.

This single streaming session broke the current highest concurrent streaming viewers in the streaming website Twitch, where the record high now stands at 635,000 concurrent stream viewers, or viewers all watching at the same time. This surpassed the previous record by nearly double the amount of concurrent viewers that was set by "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" ("PUBG") Dr. Disrespect at 388,000.

Though it wasn't every day that a game streamer is joined by some of the most popular musicians in the world as well as a star athlete and the view count was certainly to be expected given the popularity of the team. This also made streamer Ninja skyrocket in popularity, not that he needed a boost since he was already popular even before Drake and gang joined him for a gameplay session.

Adding to the entertainment value of the streaming session was the fact that Drake was actually already a decent player of "Fortnite: Battle Royale." He also admitted that he plays during studio downtime, meaning he had quite a lot of practice, for a busy celebrity.

Meanwhile, Ninja's subscriber count went up by 90,000 which should now amount to about $250,000 a month in revenue since donations are a streamer's primary revenue source in their activity. Now that Drake himself has done it, other celebrities who play video games might soon follow, and with the immense popularity of "Fortnite: Battle Royale," it is only a matter of time before more stars jump in on the action.
