'Forza Motorsport 6' DLC news: New update fixes 'NASCAR' expansion issues

Forza Motorsport 6 - NASCARTurn 10 Studios

"Forza Motorsport 6" recently saw the launch of the brand new "NASCAR" DLC expansion, which opened over 10 hours of additional gameplay, racing circuits and 24 NASCAR-certified vehicles. But with the DLC came a few balancing issues and bugs. The develoeprs from Turn 10 Studios have now released an official update to address these problems.

As stated on the official "Forza Motorsports" forums, the new update is already out and available for players to download and patch onto their games. One of the main problems that it address is a glitch that stops players without upgrades from progressing the game's career mode.

This issue will no longer be a problem and players opting to race their vehicles in their original, vanilla form can do so in the career mode without being glitched out of the game.

Another glitch that was fixed was an issue that caused Drivatars to lose collision. This occurred only after a rewind and when the Drivatar is in pit state but is currently outside the pit lane. This is crucial for players competing in the NASCAR circuits specifically during online multiplayer matches.

The update also moves back the rolling start by 15 but only on the following tracks: Rio Coast Loop, Rio Full, Rio National, Yas Marina South, the Indy GP, Indy GP Classic and all of the Watkins Glen ribbon tracks. This has been done not only to better simulate real-world races but also to give the vehicles better starting speed in the races.

In regards to lapped traffic, the "distance behind" data is displayed in the HUD is now in meters or feet instead of laps.

According to the developers the update is a total of 106 MB in size and it is recommended that a player fully installs the update and then signing out of Xbox Live. The console is then recommended to be shut down and rebooted to ensure that the data has been properly implemented into the game.
