Franklin Graham explains why America should care about Iraq and Iran
Evangelist Franklin Graham is asking: Why should America care about Iraq and Iran?
Both countries desperately need the prayers of Christians from all over the world, because its people are facing threats to their lives, and the ripple effects of their conflicts are sadly shaping up to be a huge problem for the rest of the world, he believes.
"These two countries are a real danger to the peace and security of not only the Middle East, but to the entire world--and they pose a huge threat to the state of Israel," Graham wrote in his Facebook page. "Iran wants to build nuclear weapons to wipe Israel off the face of the earth. And we have a president who doesn't seem to understand or even care, and who is responsible for the imploding of all that was gained and the sacrifices made by this nation to free the Iraqi people from Saddam Hussein."
Graham is imploring Christians to pray for the tens of thousands of people who are being victimised by the Islamic State (ISIS) and the Islamic Republic of Iran. He also sought prayers of comfort and support for those who are forced to flee their homes with no place to go.
At the same time, Graham also voiced concern for the welfare of America's troops after a U.S. military helicopter was located after it disappeared while delivering humanitarian aid in Nepal. It had crashed into a mountain side with no survivors.
Graham added that members of the military risk their lives day in and day out, not just by defending the nation but by "being the face of American compassion in countries around the world," and he urged people to remember them in their prayers.
