Fans of both the unreleased horror game and the movie alike will have to wait a little longer before "Friday the 13th: The Game" is launched, and this, apparently, is for a good reason.

As per GameNGuide, the said delay may be due to Gun Media and IllFonic's joint efforts to create an improved horror-adventure feel. This has somehow been confirmed by the game publisher's announcement about delivering a better experience for the fans.

Kickstarter further adds context to this assumption. "Friday the 13th: The Game" has already informed followers that it will launch on the multiplayer platform, but it was recently announced that they are developing a single player campaign along with AI bots to optimize the offline gaming experience.

Aside from this, the developers are adding another playable character, namely Tommy Jarvis, as well as an additional map, Packanack Lodge. The said new environment will reprise the scenes from "Friday the 13th: Part Two" which will surely create a subtle twinge of horrific nostalgia.

To pacify the feeling of disappointment, Gun Media studio head and co-creator Wes Keltner said, as posted on the game's Kickstarter page, "The first thing people are going to read here is delay. We want everyone to be assured that coming to our decision to delay was no easy matter, but we believe that the positives far outweigh the negatives. We've been reading day in and day out on our social media feeds that single player and Tommy Jarvis were in such a demand that we couldn't ignore our fans," Kickstarter reports further.

In summary, a rough schedule has been created by the makers of the game. A beta release with four additional beta keys will be made available by fall 2016 for those who pre-ordered, allowing them to experience the game before anyone else does. Multiplayer mode with Tommy Jarvis and Packanack Lodge will be released by spring 2017, followed by single player mode and offline AI bots by summer 2017.

As per "Friday the 13th: The Game" website, the much-awaited horror title will endeavor to stay true to the feeling and aura of the original movie. The extension for development aims to do just that.
