A year after Disney's highly-acclaimed film "Frozen" was released in theaters, the movie is still very popular and its characters are well-known to both children and adults alike. Thus, it's no surprise that fans are hoping that the people behind the movie are cooking up a sequel.

Idina Menzel, the actress who lent her voice to Queen Elsa, has given waiting fans a spark of hope and confirmed that the sequel of the film and a stage musical are already in the works. In an interview with U.K.'s The Telegraph, the actress was asked to spill some hints about the upcoming projects involving the series.

"They're all in the works," Menzel said followed by a sly laugh, although she is still unsure whether she will participate in the second film or not.

As for the stage production, Disney president and producer Thomas Schumacher said that he was in talks with directors last October. Schumacher said that he already has a design concept in mind for the Broadway version of "Frozen."

However, Disney has not confirmed the exact premieres of the "Frozen 2" film and the stage musical.

Meanwhile, a chapter-book series adaptation of the film will be released early next year. Aimed at young readers who cannot get enough of the film, the book series will follow the stories of the movie's beloved characters. The first two books entitled, "Anna & Elsa #1: All Hail the Queen" and "Anna & Elsa #2: Memory and Magic" will be released on Jan. 6, 2015.

The publishing house also added that two more books will be released later next year, and three or four books will be released each year moving forward.

There are numerous reports stating that Disney has loads of plans for "Frozen." It is named as the highest-grossing animated film of all time after it garnered worldwide popularity and dominated the box office last year.
