'Frozen 2' sequel plot rumors: Young Elsa to be heavily featured in upcoming film?

"Frozen" became a phenomenon when the ground-breaking film appeared to call out certain Disney princess stereotypes, and instead of having a prince save the day, it was a sister's love that made a difference in the lives of many people. The film has become one of the most lucrative franchises to date, and many are wondering when the sequel will premiere. Disney officially announced plans to produce a "Frozen" sequel back in May.

So far, director Chris Buck and screenwriter Jennifer Lee have been quiet about the upcoming film, and it was reported that the writing process hasn't officially begun. It is believed that at this point, the film's plot has not been planned yet, but it was rumored that a young Elsa will be heavily featured in the film.

According to Movie Pilot, Eva Bella, who provided the voice of young Elsa in the first film, has confirmed that she will be coming back for the sequel. The website speculates that fans will most likely see a flashback to when Anna and Elsa were children, before Elsa accidentally struck her sister with her powers.

Meanwhile, Buck said that moviegoers will get to see a different Elsa in "Frozen 2". The director explained that in the first film, Elsa had to go through a dramatic journey before she was able to accept her powers, while in the short film "Frozen Fever," the character was seen having a lot more fun.

"And that personality, you will see in the next one," said Buck.

Buck and Lee also previously confirmed that the sisters will be working together in the upcoming film, and the sequel will take on issues that many people are facing today.

"We will tackle other issues that, I think, are out there today that boys and girls, men and women, are dealing with," said Buck.

It was also rumored that due to the popularity of the first film's song, "Let it Go," the second film will likewise have a musical number which will allegedly feature a duet between Elsa and Anna.

A release date has yet to be announced for "Frozen 2."
