Word about "Frozen 2" has been scarce since Disney announced that a sequel to the 2013 hit animated film was in the works. Disney made the announcement last March at the Walt Disney Co.'s annual shareholders meeting in San Francisco.

While a release date and production details have yet to be announced, it was confirmed that directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck will return for the project along with producer Peter Del Vecho.

As the Internet becomes flooded with speculations about the film's plot, the filmmakers have remained silent about the film, and for now, no one really knows what the upcoming film will be all about. However, "Frozen" continues to be relevant as the movie and its characters are revisited in such shows such as "Lip Sync Battle," where Channing Tatum recently channeled his inner Elsa by lip synching to "Let It Go."

Newly crowned Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach also got the Disney treatment when a fan posted a sketch of the beauty queen as a Disney princess, fueling rumors that the 26-year-old is being considered for a role in "Frozen 2."

Meanwhile, one of the animated film's most loved characters, Olaf, will be making an appearance in an upcoming episode of "Sofia the First." According to Variety, Josh Gad will reprise his role as the optimistic snowman on Monday, Feb. 15, in the animated series, which will be broadcast on Disney Channel and Disney Junior. The website reports that Olaf's appearance on the show is part of new efforts to keep "Frozen" viable in consumers' minds.

Olaf will be seen in the episode "The Secret Library: Olaf and the Tale of Miss Nettle," the second episode of a four-part story arc. Megan Mullally will return as the voice of Miss Nettle, while Eric Stonestreet and Hugh Bonneville recur as Sofia's flying horse Minimus and the Narrator, respectively.
