Disney has finally announced that they will be starting work on the sequel to the 2013 hit "Frozen," but fans might be shocked as there could be major changes made to the cast members of the original movie.

According to the rumor mill, Broadway actress and singer Idina Menzel — the voice behind the smash hit "Let it Go" and the talent behind the Queen of Arendelle with incredible ice powers —will be replaced by RnB singer Rihanna or pop princess Taylor Swift.

The Morning Ledger reported that the decision to exit the franchise was made by Menzel herself and that Rihanna and Swift were being considered because of their success in the field of music. When asked about developments in the movie, Menzel admitted that she, too, was in the dark about the possible direction of the sequel.

"Honestly, I don't know. And I'm a servant of Disney," she said in an interview

As of the present, the only sure thing about the franchise is that directors Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee will be tapped to direct the sequel since it has already been announced at Disney's annual shareholders' conference last September.

While there has been no release date set yet by Disney and Pixar, its chief creative officer John Lasseter assured fans that the directors behind the original movie will definitely "come up with a great idea for a sequel."

Kristen Bell — the actress who played Princess Anna — seemed confident that whether the sequel takes a long time to produce or release, fans will still support the franchise.

"They have the luxury to not rush because everyone is going to be excited whether it comes out tomorrow or in five years. They're making it as perfect as they need it to be and we're on call to start recording whenever," Bell told IGN.
