Despite the resounding news about the apparent release of a sequel to Disney's blockbuster hit animation film "Frozen," the studio denied the rumors that the next installment for the film will come out anytime soon. Instead, the studio revealed that they will be releasing a new short film titled "Frozen Fever," wherein the beloved characters of the original movie will return for a brand new adventure. 

The short sequel will feature the royal sisters of Arendelle in a seven-minute adventure. The story revolves around Elsa's preparation for Anna's birthday party, but the elder sister catches a cold, which makes things complicated. 

The upcoming mini-sequel will feature a new song titled "Perfect Day," written and composed by Oscar Award-winning composers Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez. They were also the ones responsible for the phenomenal song "Let It Go" from the original film. 

Kristen Bell once again lends her voice to Anna. The other original cast members return to the short film, too, including Idina Menzel as Elsa, Jonathan Groff as Kristoff, as well as Josh Gad as Olaf.

"Frozen Fever" will be shown in U.S. theaters on March 13, alongside the upcoming live-action adaptation of Disney's "Cinderella," starring Lily James and Cate Blanchett. 

Meanwhile, the expected full-length "Frozen 2" is still unannounced at the moment. Bell had an interview with Bustle, and she said that a full-blown sequel is not in the works at the moment. 

"They haven't green-lighted it yet," the actress said. "There is so much speculation, mostly because people have wanted it so bad. They've read into quotes or otherwise. They definitely have not green-lit it. I would really hope they do, as all of our cast members would love to be involved. We're twiddling our thumbs and trying to nudge them in the right direction."
