Actress Gal Gadot has confirmed that the production of the sequel of her blockbuster superhero film "Wonder Woman" will not involve Brett Ratner. This was after the filmmaker had been accused by several women of sexual harassment.

Gadot, who plays the eponymous superhero, sat down with NBC's "Today" show and confirmed that a number of people involved in the film have agreed that making the sequel without Ratner's RatPac-Dune Entertainment company is the right thing to do.

When asked about an article that claimed that it was the actress who demanded Ratner's removal, Gadot said, "Everyone knows the way that I feel because I'm not hiding anything."

"But the truth is, there's so many people involved in making this movie, it's not just me, and they all echoed the same sentiments," Gadot clarified.

Ratner's RatPac-Dune Entertainment helped produce "Wonder Woman," which turned out to be a massive box office success through a co-financing deal with Warner Bros. that will end in 2018. Following the sexual misconduct allegations, Warner Bros. decided not to renew the partnership after 2018.

Ratner was hit with multiple allegations of sexual harassment in recent weeks. Eight women have come forward accusing the producer of sexual misconduct, all of which he denied through his lawyer.

Following the expose that accused film studio boss Harvey Weinstein of repeated instances of sexual misconduct, a major upheaval started happening in Hollywood. A lot of former sexual harassment victims have gathered courage to speak up against the alleged culprits, who are usually powerful male Hollywood figures.

Gadot has been very vocal about her support for these women. "I stand by all the courageous woman confronting their fears and speaking out," she said in an Instagram post. "We are all united in this time of change," the actress added.

The sequel to "Wonder Woman" is set to be released on Nov. 1 2019.
