Android 5.1 Lollipop update not coming to Samsung Galaxy Note 4?

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4.Samsung Global Site

These past few months, Samsung has been working hard to push the needed updates for its flagship devices. The numerous product line ups and series posed some concerns over the slowness of the rollout, not to mention that Samsung chooses to tweak its mobile operating systems and base its devices on a different build of Android 5.0 Lollipop.

There are numerous reports that one of the flagship devices that is slated to receive the newest 5.1 Lollipop update is the Galaxy Note 4. According to YouMobile, it received unconfirmed reports that Samsung is going to update the Note 4 to Android 5.1 Lollipop.

However, Samsung observer SamMobile contradicts update reports, saying that the site has company insiders and that they confirm Samsung is not making any development moves to update any device from its line up, particularly a 5.1 Lollipop update for the Note 4. The device will reportedly stick with the Android 5.0.x build "for the foreseeable future."

The report went on to say that instead of developing updates, Samsung is focused right now on bringing Android 5.0 Lollipop to its Galaxy A lineup, but there are no specific dates mentioned.

If, on the other hand, an update does push through, it would be a welcome one for hardcore Note 4 fans, as the stock Android on their devices run on an earlier Android 5.0.2 build. Update to the Android operating system means that the numerous bug fixes and tweaks over its predecessor will carry over to the phablet. In addition, it was reported that the new update will also bring the newest TouchWiz user interface from the Galaxy S6 into the Note 4. The latest TouchWiz version includes less bloatware, faster load times, and lighter skins.
