The much awaited "Gambit" is finally moving on from production hell, as a new working title is announced alongside the female lead.

According to Gamezone, the new working title is now "Forevermore." Apparently, "Chess," the previous working title meant to confuse and throw off leakers has become too public, so executives decided on the new code. Fans should note that working titles have nothing to do with the plot of other details of the movie. As mentioned, it is merely a codename.

In more recent news, Lizzy Caplan is set to join Tatum as the female lead of the superhero movie, as per Variety. According to rumors, the "Mean Girls" star is set to play Gambit's love interest, Rogue. Fans of the actress will remember her from past projects "Masters of Sex," "Cloverfield," "127 Hours," "Now You See Me 2," and "Allied."

Four months ago, "Magic Mike" actor Tatum also revealed that the movie was moving in a new direction. This was supposedly due to movies like "Deadpool" and "Logan" changing the playing field. 

"We got really lucky. We had a first draft; it was good, but we were coming to it at a time at that creative phase of [the X-Men], where these movies went through a bit of a paradigm shift," Tatum shared.

The "21 Jump Stree" star further added, "[T]he X-Men movies and the superhero movies with Logan and Deadpool really broke down a lot of doors for us. We were trying to do some things that we actually weren't allowed to do, and they just smashed down the doors, so we're giving it a bit of a rethink."

"Gambit" was first announced in 2014, but it was only this year that production moved forwards. Previously, fans only knew that Tatum was set to play the titular character and that Gore Verbinski will be helming the movie.
