Avid "Game of Thrones" fans are having a hard time waiting until the fifth season of the HBO adaptation of George R.R. Martin's epic "A Song of Ice and Fire" saga returns to the small screen, but Telltale Games will try to appease that longing by releasing a video game.

News about the release of the "Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games" graphic adventure game have been going around for days, and the first trailer was finally released last Nov. 20.

The trailer noticeably features a narration voiced by someone who sounds very much like actress Lena Headey who portrays the role of Cersei Lannister. The video also features some of the fan-favorite characters in the series, including Cersei's brother Tyrion, Margaery Tyrell, as well as one of the most hated characters, Ramsay Bolton, and someone who he seems to be torturing, who is probably Theon Greyjoy.

The video game, however, will be based on the TV series and not the novels, and it will revolve around a family from the North called House Forrester, which was introduced during the end of season three and last seen by the end of season four.

One of the characters mentioned by the game developer is called Maester Ortengryn from a minor house in Vale.  Wired reported that Maester Ortengryn was an acolyte at the Citadel, and he initially hoped to be assigned to the Eyrie as soon as he earned enough links on his chain.  But by the time he was ready to be discharged to do his duties, John Arryn was murdered so the new maester was assigned to Ironrath instead. There, he came to serve an honorable house, the Forresters.

Telltale also shared in the article that undisclosed events, probably related to the threats made by Cersei, will push House Forrester into a dangerous position.

The official release date of the video game is still undisclosed, but sources believe that Telltale will unveil the first part of the episodic "Game of Thrones" game before 2014 ends in Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, and iOS editions.
