Ned Stark (Sean Bean) from "Game of Thrones" is hitting some headlines once again for fans of the show despite being headless and dead for six seasons of the series. This was because his last word before being decapitated have only been revealed just now.

A lot of fans have left with a burning question ever since Ned got executed back in the finale of season 1 of the show, where he appeared to have uttered a few lines before the sword met the back of his neck. Now those same fans are about to lose their heads over what Ned said before he was dead, and the venerable Stark character issue can now be laid to rest.

It was disclosed by none other than his actor Sean Bean and he stated during an interview that his unfortunate character Ned was "just saying a prayer," and added that "It appears that way, doesn't it? I couldn't be too specific, because I don't know if religion [like that] was around in those days, whatever they were. I just thought, 'What would you do if this were really gonna happen?' You probably would pray. You probably would murmur some words and you'd keep it quiet. You'd keep it to yourself."

So there it is, just a prayer seconds before the execution, but what it was about was not specified by Bean himself, meaning it could have been anything from a one last promise to his beloved late sister Lyanna, "Valar Morghulis," or simply "winter is coming." Bean was also surprised that fans and viewers read too much into it since he apparently just did some improvisation for the prayer part.

The 58-year-old actor also knew that his character's last gesture before death would be quite hard to decipher, though he admitted that there really wasn't much Ned could do but murmur a few prayers with his head on a chopping block. Regardless, it could just be some random murmured gibberish that he passed off as a prayer for Ned's last words.
