More "Game of Thrones" theories are going around as production for season 6 intensifies. 

A recent theory claims that Stannis Baratheon (Stephen Dillane) did not die in the hands of Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) last season, after novelist George R.R. Martin revealed that the character is still alive in the books where the series is loosely based on. The author of "A Song of Ice and Fire" saga revealed the character's fate in the books when a fan asked him through his blog site. According to Martin, Stannis is still alive, without a doubt. 

This is the first time that the speculations about Stannis' condition has been confirmed, since most fans were not convinced that he died as his death was only presented through a letter written to Jon Snow. His death was not directly featured in the TV series as well. 

However, the staff of "GoT" has yet to confirm if the character remains alive in the HBO series. The actor is also noticeably missing on the set of the new season. 

Meanwhile, the never-ending debate about the real status of Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) continues despite the statements from HBO's president of programming Michael Lombardo last month, saying that Jon is actually "dead is dead as dead as dead." But fans are still not convinced, and they believe that there are enough evidences that prove Jon is still alive and he will return in "Game of Thrones" season 6. 

Harrington was constantly seen in the areas where the episodes are being filmed. First was in Belfast, then he was also spotted in Spain. The actor was sporting Jon's signature long hair on both occasions. 

Then another theory emerged about the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch. This time, he was allegedly born with a twin sister. According to the fan theory, Jon's real birth mother is Lyanna Stark, the deceased sister of Ned Stark. Before Lyanna died, she apparently asked her brother to take care of her son and treat him as his own. Ned introduced Jon as his bastard son to cover up his real identity. But Jon allegedly has a twin sister, and she happens to be Meera Reed. 

The theory was supported with the fact that Ned was with Howland Reed when Lyanna was giving birth, and it could be possible that he gave the baby girl to Howland to split them up. 

None of the theories have been confirmed by HBO and Martin at the moment. 

"Game of Thrones" season 6 is currently being filmed in multiple locations across Europe, and is slated to premiere in 2016.
