'Game of Thrones' season 6 plot news: Shae returning in new season?

Shae (Sibel Kekilli) may be returning for "Game of Thrones" season 6. Fan community Dragons and Direwolves have posted photos via Twitter showing the actress on the Pensicola, Spain set. The first batch of photos showcase the actress in civilian clothes, but the second batch do showcase her on set and in costume.

As reported by Metro, Kekilli may be there simply to visit friends, but she has been spotted in costume and is reportedly staying in the same hotel as the rest of the cast, indicating that she is indeed in Spain to shoot several scenes. The only problem with this is the fact that the character Shae was killed off in the season 4 finale.

However, it is speculated that Shae may be appearing in a flashback sequence. This is highly unlikely, however, as the set the actress was spotted on was reportedly being used for the city-state of Mereen, which is where Daenerys (Emily Clarke) and Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) are.

Given that the set is being used as Mereen, it is more likely that Shae will appear to Tyrion in a dream or hallucination. In the books that the show is based on, Tyrion is constantly haunted by the thoughts of his first wife Tysha. It is possible that this storyline was adapted but with Shae now taking Tysha's place.

Shae was last seen in the season 4 finale, where Tyrion strangled her to death after she had betrayed him. After killing her, Tyrion ended the fourth season by also killing his father.

If Shae indeed is returning, she won't be the only dead character coming back as Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) has also been spotted on set and also in costume, albeit in Stark clothing instead of his standard Night's Watch uniform, indicating that he has been resurrected following his death in the season 5 finale.

"Game of Thrones" season 6 is set to premiere early 2016.
