"Game of Thrones" season 7 is going to be the beginning of the end as it sees many of the loose plot lines start merging to their conclusion. This doesn't mean that new characters won't be introduced or that characters previously only mentioned may finally be making their debut appearance. One such character is Rhaegar Targaryen.

Devin Oliver, co-lead vocalist of the band I See Stars, has posted on Instagram stating that he may or may not be making an appearance on "Game of Thrones" season 7. It is also notable that, in the image, he showed that he dyed his hair to resemble the platinum-white hair of Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke).

As noted by Hollywood Life this could mean that he is indeed making an appearance on the show as Daenerys' older brother who died more than a decade prior to the events of the series. There are also several key elements that fans have pointed out which could give more credence to this rumor.

Rhaegar Targaryen is noted in the "Song of Ice and Fire" books as a notable singer, and given how Oliver is a vocalist, he could easily portray Rhaegar this way. Rhaegar has also been revealed on the show as the true father of Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), and the report points out that the two celebrities bear some resemblance.

While it is possible that Oliver is playing a different Targaryen, such as the Mad King Aerys, Oliver's age indicates that he is more likely to play Prince Rhaegar. In the books, there is also mention of Aegon Targaryen, Daenerys' nephew who was presumed dead, but this character has never been introduced in the show.

A report from Time also points out that Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) has been able to travel to the past, and it is likely he will experience a vision from a time when Rhaegar is still alive.

"Game of Thrones" season 7 is scheduled to premiere in summer 2017.
