A lot of things happened in "Game of Thrones" season 6. Jon Snow (Kit Harington) came back to life thanks to Melisandre (Carice van Houten), Cersei (Lena Headey) blew up her rivals with wildfire, Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) finally set sail for Westeros, and who could forget the Battle of the Bastards. Those were all highlights of the season; however, none of them were as gut-wrenching as the sight of Hodor (Kristian Nairn) holding the door so that Bran (Isaac Hempstead Wright) and Meera (Ellie Kendrick) could escape from the wights.

In an interview with Business Insider, Kendrick said that she didn't think that the scene would get the kind of reaction that it did from fans of the show.

"I knew it was going to be big and people were going to get pretty excited about it. But I didn't know that it was going to get quite the reaction that it did," she said.

"It was really gratifying and pleasing to see just how well people were responding to that scene. The Hodor character is such a brilliant one and Kristian Nairn did it with such love. It was great to see him get a real moment there and a sad one. It was brilliant to see the reaction everyone had," the actress added.

After the episode aired, fans decided to honor the character by making Hodor-inspired door stoppers. Stickers with Hodor's face also started showing up on the "hold door" button in elevators around the globe. And there were memes everywhere. Well, the character's popularity really skyrocketed after that.

Meanwhile, in an interview with The Huffington Post, Kendrick was asked if the theory saying Meera and Jon Snow are twins separated at birth has any truth to it, and she said she's not ruling out the possibility because she doesn't really know what might happen next on the show. Well, the two do share some similarities.
