Co-creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss recently explained to fans the reason behind the delay of the production for the seventh season of HBO's mega-hit "Game of Thrones."

The two personalities were invited to take part on the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Unfiltered podcast and said they needed more of the gloomy weather for the next season. One of the two guests said, "We don't have an air date yet, but this year will probably be a bit later."

They added, "We're starting a bit later because at the end of this season, 'Winter is here' — and that means that sunny weather doesn't really serve our purposes anymore. So we kind of pushed everything down the line, so we could get some grim, gray weather even in the sunnier places that we shoot."

However, according to GameNGuide, it is rumored that Martin is upset when the season finale of season 6 featured several spoilers to the upcoming book. He is now wondering how he will keep the fans hooked to the book, especially now that the book has suffered several delays already. Fans are also speculating that another reason for the delay in the production process for the TV series is for Martin to be able to finish and release the sixth book, "The Winds of Winter."

Meanwhile, fans are also speculating that Syrio Forel, the famous sword-fighting teacher of Arya Stark, and Jaqen H'ghar, a member of the Faceless Men, are one and the same. Syrio was supposedly killed off when he tried defending Arya against the Kingsguards, which wasn't shown during the first season of the TV series. Miltos Yerolemou, who plays Syrio, has told fans he would love to return to "Game of Thrones." However, he also said, "the thing is you don't know," Vine Report stated.

"Game of Thrones" season 7 is expected to air sometime in 2017.
