Last seen fleeing on a boat off to King's Landing, Gendry Baratheon (Joe Dempsie), the late King Robert Baratheon's (Mark Addy) son, left "Game of Thrones" fans from around the world wondering if he would ever return, but according to recent rumors, Gendry might have a comeback in season 7 after all.

Gendry's story ended soon after he found out he was one of the potential heirs to the Iron Throne, having the late king's bloodline. His last appearance was in the third season's finale, wherein he escaped Dragonstone with the help of Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham), who saved him from the red priestess Melisandre's (Carice van Houten) plan to burn him alive as an offering to the Lord of Light.

Gendry has been a part of the first three seasons of the "Game of Thrones" franchise, appearing in a total of 17 episodes. Despite Gendry's constant presence in the initial installments of the series, fans were left with an open-ended story concerning Gendry's venture. Lately, however, rumors are rife that Gendry might return in the final season of "Game of Thrones" as Dempsie was spotted in Northern Ireland.

Even though there is no official confirmation yet whether the "Game of Thrones" star will be returning, a photo posted by Watchers on the Wall showing the actor getting off the Belfast airport are leaving fans to conclude otherwise.

Moreover, according to The Wrap, there are no known projects that would require Dempsie to be present in Belfast, thus igniting the rumors of a possible "Game of Thrones" comeback.

Aside from Dempsie's sighting, actor Iain Glen who plays Ser Jorah Mormont, another "Game of Thrones" character whose story had an open ending, is also rumored to return in season 7 after being seen twice in Belfast.

As of now, there is still no official information from HBO or George R.R. Martin about the cast for the show's final installment, which is set to be released in the summer of 2017.
