Details about "Game of Thrones" season 8 is being kept under wraps, but there is nothing to stop the fans to speculate about the outcome of a brewing war between the people of Westeros and the band of undead soldiers, led by the Night King (Vladimir Furdik). According to Express UK, "Game of Thrones" season 8 could introduce another mind-numbing plot twist that involves Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and the Night King. There has been a foreshadowing in the previous seasons that the two are destined to fight each other until the very end, and that epic battle is expected to happen very soon. Although, a "GoT" fan has developed a theory that the Night King may not necessarily appear as the villain in the final season. Jon Snow, on the other hand, may actually be working hard all this time to put Westeros in danger.

The "Game of Thrones" season 8 plot rumor suggests that George R. R. Martin may have used the real-life events in the Vietnam War as basis for the final war in Westeros. The person that everyone has always believed to be the bad guy may actually have the intention to save men. A peek at the Nigh King's past shows that he was created by the Children of the Forrest to protect them against humans. According to the fan, there is more to be told about the Night King's origin as the magic that transformed him into a monster may not entirely erased his intention to protect his own kind.

"In this case, both the Night King and Jon Snow were fighting for the same cause without realising it: To protect the living," the fan states. Jon has been rallying all forces to fight the Night King, but the twist here is that he is just trying to stop the Night King from saving humanity. In a way, Jon Snow could be considered as antogonist, although it is true that he just wants to protect the world from possible destruction.

Other rumors for "Game of Thrones" season 8 include the shocking defeat of Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), which will be caused by the absence of the Dornish army in the great war. The Dorne has been considered as a force to reckon in Westeros, a kingdom that is feared by the Lannisters. The Dornish army is nowhere in sight in the last acts of season 7, and if this continues into the next season, there is a chance that Daenerys will fail to claim the Iron Throne.

"Game of Thrones" season 8 is set to premiere in early 2019.
