The year 2018 is a good year for Nintendo Switch owners all across the globe. Not only are new games coming to the Switch, but a handful of old but popular titles such as "Dark Souls," and "The World Ends with You" are getting remastered versions ported to the Switch this year.

In the Nintendo Direct 2018, the company announced the new games that would be coming to the Switch sometime this year. The list of upcoming games was also uploaded to Nintendo's website.

Here are some of the games Switch players will be able to get their hands on soon.

"Dark Souls." Originally released in 2011, the hit RPG rose to fame because of its smooth in-game fight mechanics and because of how challenging the game could be. Gamers everywhere were torn, and it quickly turned into a hit or miss situation for many RPG fans, with a handful adoring the game for its difficulty, and with another handful criticizing it for how tough it was to beat. Either way, "Dark Souls" went on to receive mostly popular ratings from video game sites.

The game was originally released for the PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox One, but will be getting a Nintendo Switch port this 2018. The Nintendo Switch version will be a remastered edition with improved graphics. "Dark Souls" releasing on the Switch will mark the first time a Souls game has been released on a portable console. It will also be the first Souls game playable on a Nintendo console.

Another game that will receive a Switch Port in 2018 is "Darkest Dungeons." A roguelike dungeon crawler that relies on both wits and luck. "Darkest Dungeons" was originally released for the PC. The Nintendo Switch port of the game will come with the downloadable content packs Crimson Court and the Shieldbreaker. However, to unlock the DLC content, players will have to pay extra.

"The World Ends with You." Originally released in 2008 for the DS. The action-rhythm game will be making a comeback on the Switch this 2018. This latest edition of the game will come with new scenes.

Lastly, the first Pokemon title coming to the Switch in 2018 is "Pokken Tournament DX." An interesting mix of fighting game Tekken and RPG game Pokemon. Players of the game will take control of different Pokemon and duke it out in the arenas with both their friends and the game's AI.
