GameStop is giving players more power with its new program. The retailer is launching a new feature called PowerPass, a $60 six-month program that lets customers play as many pre-owned games as they want.

According to GameRant, PowerPass will have players choose a game from GameStop's preowned library and they can take the game home and swap it with something else when they're done. There are an unlimited number of games to play in the six-month duration but players will be able to rent only one game at a time

The deal itself is great for players, but aside from that, players can choose to keep their pre-owned game once the six-month time period expires.

The program starts on Nov. 19, launching just in time for the holiday season. The service can be used as a gift for someone or purchased for personal enjoyment. Consumers will be able to buy the PowerPass subscription online, but they will need to go to a GameStop physical store to have their subscription activated as well as pick out and/or return their game.

Joey D. Mooring, director of corporate communications at GameStop, said that the program will only be available to PowerUp Rewards members since the games will be tracked.

Players can only choose games on the shelves at physical stores and not from the company's online catalogue. The company's PowerUp program offers points for every dollar spent, plus other special deals each month and on the customer's birthday.

Joining the program is free and GameStop has "Pro" and "Elite Pro" packages that are priced at $14.99 and $29.99, respectively, and provides added perks.

With the reported closure of some of its 150 outlets earlier this year, GameStop's new program could help the company extend its life and customers will still have a place to go to for their gaming needs.
