The upcoming "Gauntlet: Slayer Edition" will be providing players with more choices and abilities to choose from as soon as it is released for both PlayStation 4 (PS4) and personal computers (PCs).

News of the additional options came from the game's developer, Arrowhead Game Studios. Earlier in the month, the game's developers were already talking about possible changes coming to the new version of the game, but they did not  provide any truly specific details that would give fans of the game something more concrete to look forward to, according to Gamespot.

As for the changes themselves, players can now change the weapon abilities for each of the game's heroes, allowing for a more varied experience when it comes to gameplay. Players can try out this new option by using new weapons that will be found at the game's shop.

Potions will also be changing for the "Slayer Edition" of "Gauntlet." Instead of being used as relics as they were in the original version of the game, potions will now grant class-specific abilities, meaning greater diversity in terms of gaming experiences. Potions can only be equipped one at a time however, and there will also be a cooling down period preventing players from simply using them continuously.

Another new element coming to "Gauntlet: Slayer Edition" will be Endless Mode. In this mode, players will be tasked with battling through several challenging floors until they can go no further.

For fans looking to buy the game to try out the new options available, they will also be able to benefit from pre-ordering the title. Players who will opt to pre-order "Gauntlet: Slayer Edition" will receive Mordok's Screaming Hammer as well as the Reaper's Visage Helm for the Warrior, according to Digital Trends.

The revamped "Gauntlet: Slayer Edition" will be available for purchase beginning Aug. 11.
