Microsoft Studio's latest third-person shooter video game sequel " Gears of War 4" is now just a week away from being released for the Xbox One and Windows PC worldwide.

With its impending release, the game's developer — The Coalition — has announced a brand new "Legacy Rewards" promo that will be available to those who have played any of the past installments of the "Gears of War" franchise. Several in-game items and rewards will be given away to eligible players when the game arrives on Tuesday, Oct. 11.

The promotion itself will be open to those who are subscribed to Microsoft's Xbox Gold program, or is currently a silver member. Players must have logged in to their Gamertags at least once in the past twelve months.

A player must have also played any of the four previous installments in the franchise. The developers also mentioned that the game hours don't really matter, which means that having opened any of the games over the past year will automatically make a player eligible for the promotion. It doesn't matter if a player has never earned a single achievement while playing any of the games, as long as the game itself was opened on their console.

All of the players who meet the aforementioned criteria will be receiving a "First Wave" legacy emblem which they will be able to access within the game's customization menu. An additional reward will also be given to eligible legacy players in the form of an extra "Operations Pack" which will contain a myriad of items.

The "Operations Pack" will contain one unannounced customization item and four cards of different types. Those who are lucky enough to be chosen for the reward will receive an Xbox Live message informing them of their good fortune. The reward will, however, have an expiration date and will stay redeemable until the last day of the year.
