Reportedly, the events that players will immerse themselves into in the upcoming role-playing installment "Gears of War 4" will take place in only a day.

The new digital issue of Game Informer featuring "Gears of War 4" has already circulated, and the spread and stories spilled new details about the upcoming title. According to Game Spot, one of the highlights of the fourth "Gears of War" installment is how it takes a page off the action-drama series "24."

Allegedly, all the events that JD Fenix – Marcus Fenix' son – and his team of protagonists will participate in will be in a span of only 24 hours, and the entire story will unfold over a one-day period. The story itself takes place 25 years after the events in "Gears of War 3," and Fenix and his team will be placed in a struggle against the COG forces and a splinter group, The Outsiders.

Aside from the details on the story of "Gears of War 4," some gameplay mechanics are also laid out in the issue. According to ComicBook, one element that will make the missions and the game more interesting and challenging is the introduction of weather as an in-game feature. In the game, the area of Sera now has an unstable climate, and players must try to finish the mission while adapting to the current state of the location.

In addition, the main characters, particularly JD Fenix and his team, are fleshed out in the issue. Each character's background will play a part in the overall story of "Gears of War 4," as Rod Fergusson, head of developer The Coalition, pointed out: "We were able to describe Gears of War 1's characters with a couple of words, but I find that it's much harder to do that with JD, Del, and Kait because there are a lot more layers to them. You can't pigeonhole them as, 'overenthusiastic pro-athlete.'"
