In the week of March 5, Ned Quartermaine's (Wally Kurth) leadership will be tested after an earthquake hits Port Charles. Moreover, Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) is unaware her groom, Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) is caught in the middle of the disaster.
Ned's leadership as the city's mayor will be tested in the disaster. Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) will not be pleased that her husband will have to leave the safety of their mansion to help citizens, however, she understands that it is part of what Ned signed up for when he ran for the mayor position.
Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and ex-wife Sam McCall Cain (Kelly Monaco) will also be rushing out of the mansion in the aftermath of the earthquake to save the children in The Floating Rib. Sam will be especially worried for Drew Cain's (Billy Miller) safety after she left him at The Floating Rib where he's chaperoning his son. The two will have an unfortunate detour which will lead them to rescue someone other than Drew — Franco. Meanwhile, Drew and Kim Nero (Tamara Barun) who are trapped at The Floating Rib will realize that Oscar Nero (Garren Stitt) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) are missing.
Elizabeth, whose wedding is supposed to take place at the same time the disaster happened, will be utterly disappointed after her groom, Franco failed to show up. She is unaware that Franco was caught in the middle of the earthquake after he was delayed by a confrontation with the mysterious character, Jim Harvey (Greg Evigan). Franco will be in danger with his only hope of survival in the hands of Jason, the man he had tormented for years.
