The recent 10-hour maintenance enhancement of the tactical shooting game "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands" might have been too long for some players, but it is totally worth it. Plus, a free trial of the games during the weekend was announced.

Ubisoft, the game's developer, announced that update 8 is now available to PlayStation 4 (PS4) and Xbox One users from Oct. 10 and to PC from Oct. 12. This much-anticipated patch also brings the player-versus-player (PVP) mode "Ghost War," so gamers should plan their tactics well in order to win against others. The game is described as "an intense tactical 4v4 adversarial experience."

"Ghost War" enables one to team up with other players for a session, in which a member can revive a teammate. Aside from this, the patch brings the usual bug fixes and enhancements. The developer also announced that they fixed the network issue experienced by some players. Update 8 of "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" is up to 11 GB in Xbox One and PS4, while in PC, it is up to 9.56 GB on Uplay and 4.7 GB on Steam.

Also, those who have not tried the game can download "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" for free from Oct. 12 to 15. And if this is not enough to convince gamers, the PVP mode will be available in this free version as well.

The game can be bought with a 50-percent discount from Oct. 12 to 16, while members of Xbox Live Gold, Uplay, and PlayStation Plus have until Oct. 23 to avail of the promo. Buyers of the full "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" who tried the game for free will get to pick up from where they last left off.

"Ghost Recon: Wildlands" went offline for 10 hours on Oct. 10, Tuesday. This was announced via Twitter, in preparation of the launch of the PVP mode, "Ghost War," and update 8. The maintenance only affected the online game.
