After revealing that she was not invited to return to the reboot of "Gilmore Girls" back in February, Melissa McCarthy has finally announced that she will reprise her role as chef Sookie St. James in the Netflix revival.

"There has been something I've been asked about so, so many times, and it hasn't worked out," the actress-comedienne said Thursday during The Ellen DeGeneres Show, as reported by CNN. "They're making four new movies of the 'Gilmore Girls,' which is a show that was near and dear to my heart for four years, and we could not get those schedules to work."

She also revealed that that she had just found out that she will be back on the show as the fan-favorite best pal of Lauren Graham's character Lorelai Gilmore in the upcoming reboot.

Joining McCarthy and Graham in the "Gilmore Girls" reboot are other original cast members Alexis Bledel as Lorelei's daughter Rory, Danny Strong as Doyle, Todd Lowe as Zach, Jackson Douglas as Jackson, Matt Czuchry as Logan, Kelly Bishop as Emily, Jared Padalecki as Dean, Keiko Agena as Lane, Liza Weil as Paris, Liz Torres as Ms. Patty, Sean Gunn as Kirk, Yanic Truesdale as Michel, John Cabrera as Brian, and Scott Patterson as Lorelei's love interest Luke Danes.

The original cast will also be joined by self-proclaimed "Girlmore Girls super fan" Sutton Foster, who will appear in an upcoming musical episode of the upcoming reboot.

In an interview with Vulture during Variety's Power of Women Luncheon, the Broadway star revealed that she will portray the role of a struggling theater actress.

"I can tell you that her best gig that she's gotten so far in life is the lead in the Stars Hollow musical," Foster stated.

Foster will appear in the third of four episodes of the upcoming "Gilmore Girls" reboot.

Netflix is expected to announce the premiere date of the "Gilmore Girls" revival in the coming days.
