Melissa McCarthy has finally discussed her character Sookie St. James's return to Stars Hollow in Netflix's revival of "Gilmore Girls."

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter's Pret-a-Reporter, the actress-comedienne admitted that she became highly emotional when she returned to the set of the fan-favorite series.

"I got so sentimental going back to those sets and seeing everybody," McCarthy said. "It was really amazing how quickly we all fell back into it."

When asked about how Sookie has been since the series finale in 2007, McCarthy refused to elaborate further. But she said that she loved how the characters will be portrayed in the four-episode revival.

"I got so sentimental going back to those sets and seeing everybody," McCarthy said. "It was really amazing how quickly we all fell back into it," she stated.

She also said she believes that the move to bring back "Gilmore Girls" is very timely.

"I realized that it had been long enough, and when I went back, I was like, 'Awww.' I really, really missed everybody and really missed those characters," she said.

Avid fans of the series were given the first glimpse of Sookie in her signature bandana on the set of the upcoming series when costume supervisor Brenda Maben shared a photo via her private Instagram account which E! News managed to obtain.

Aside from McCarthy, other original "Gilmore Girls" cast members also signed up to return for the Netflix revival. They include lead stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel who will reprise their roles as Lorelei and Rory Gilmore, respectively. Scott Patterson will also return as Luke Danes, Keiko Agena as Lane Kim, Yanic Truesdale as Michel Gerard, and Kelly Bishop as Emily Gilmore, among others.

Netflix is expected to reveal the release date of the "Gilmore Girls" revival, titled "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life," soon.
