What was once an unconfirmed report has now been confirmed — "Gilmore Girls" is making a comeback.

Netflix has confirmed the news that the 2000–2007 drama comedy series will soon be available in the streaming service. That's not the only great news the company announced via Twitter on Jan. 30; Netflix also confirmed that series main cast Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop, and Scott Patterson, along with Sean Gunn and Keiko Agena, will be back to reprise their roles.

As previously reported, the Team Palladino, Amy Sherman and Daniel, who executive produced and directed the original show, will also write and direct the fresh episodes. No number of episodes nor the episode titles have been released yet, but according to TVLine, there will be four episodes that run 90 minutes each. Each episode will correspond to the four seasons of the calendar year.

Meanwhile, Graham already expressed her excitement over the comeback of the series. "I CAN NOW CONFIRM: it's time for me, and this jacket I stole in 2007, to return to work. @netflix #GilmoreGirls," the actress wrote on Twitter.

Patterson also had something to say. Speaking in an exclusive interview with International Business Times, the actor said he was happy to have the revival because he believes fans deserved it, considering how unsatisfying the ending of the series was.

"So I'm mostly excited for the fans because they have been beyond patient and just incredibly supportive of all this. I'm thrilled for them."

Patterson, who played Luke, also gave tidbits about the upcoming Netflix series. "It's a longer script — an hour and a half movie we're shooting so there's more to it so the scenes are longer. It's going to be a lot of fun to do this."

The actor also revealed that he's hopeful that his character and Graham's character, Lorelai, will finally get married in the reboot.

Genuine fans of the original series will surely be excited for what's to come. In the meantime, no premiere date for the series has been set. More details should pop up soon.
